Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and supremo of Telugu Desam Party which quits NDA alleging that Modi government denied special category status to Andhra Pradesh, has claimed that Muslims have always supported TDP, however, Muslims were not happy with TDP due to its alliance with BJP. He claimed that state government works for the welfare of Muslims.

Addressing the members of minority wing of Telugu Desam Party he said protest would be made in Delhi for Muslim reservation. He alleged that the main opposition Congress, not TDP, responded to the triple talaq bill. Claiming that the TDP had opposed attempts of the Narendra Modi government to push through the “triple talaq” bill in Parliament, TDP supremo said, “Ours was the only party in the NDA to resist the triple talaq bill that was aimed at interfering in the personal law of Muslims,” he said.
