Nawaz Sharif to leave for London from Saudi Arabia

Islamabad: Ousted Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to leave for London on Sunday from Saudi Arabia.

He is likely to return to Pakistan on November 2 to attend the court hearing on the Avenfield flats in London, which is scheduled on November 3, reported the Express Tribune, quoting a senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader as saying.

Earlier, he was scheduled to arrive in Lahore In pakistan on October 24 to attend the court proceedings.

However, Sharif left London for Saudi Arabia to perform ‘Umrah’, changing his return plan to Pakistan.

On October 26, Sharif was due to appear before an Islamabad accountability court, along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar, in connection with the case of corruption in his Avenfield properties filed by the NAB (National Accountability Bureau).

The hearing on the London Avenfield flats has been adjourned until November 3.

Pakistan’s Punjab province Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also heading to London for two days on Sunday, reported the Express Tribune.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif are expected to leave for London from Islamabad soon.

Islamabad based accountability court has issued bailable arrest warrants against Sharif in connection with the cases related to two of his properties, that is the Flagship Investment case and the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment case.(ANI)
