Nepal Army Chief to visit India tomorrow

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Chief of the Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri will embark on a six-day official visit to India on the invitation from his Indian counterpart General Bipin Rawat, the Nepal Army said.

“Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri will be visiting India in the co-ordinal invitation of the Indian Chief General Bipin Rawat starting from June 6, 2018, for six days,” the Nepal Army informed in a press release.

As per the release, General Chhetri will be chairing the event as the Chief Reviewing Officer being organised in Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on June 9.

In absence of Chhetri, Purna Chandra Thapa has been announced as the caretaker Chief of the Army Staff. General Chhetri is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 11.

The Nepal Army said that the upcoming high-level military state visit will increase and further strengthen the relations between Nepal Army and Indian Army.
