Nepal’ PM Oli highlights cultural bond shared with India

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the gathering at the Ram Janaki temple on the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he highlighted the cultural ties shared between the two countries.

He welcomed Prime Minister Modi to Nepal as he highlighted the cultural significance of the temple.
Prime Minister Oli said, “Nepal’s government and the Janaki temple authorities welcome respected PM Modi to this temple which is the birthplace of Janaki.”

He further said that temple is a historic place as it witnessed various events mentioned in Ramayana including the Swayamvar of Sita, her wedding to Lord Ram and her departure to Ayodhya.

“PM Modi has followed the religious traditions of the two countries. He has given a lot of respect to this place and the country”, Prime Minister Oli added.

Prime Minister Oli further reiterated the significance of the Ram Janki temple as he said, ” This temple portrays the history of Sita, Her wedding, the event of Parshuram’ bow.”

This place is known for spreading the value of literature across the country, including the knowledge of birth, death and rebirth.

He mentioned of the Ramayan circuit. He said, “This would bring the two countries more closely as the bus service would connect the two countries.”

While announcing the launch of the bus transit service Prime Minister Oli said, “Today we will launch the Friendly bus service between India and Janakpur named Nepal-India Friendly Bus Service.”

All the preparations are done for its launch. It will help in progress and development between the two countries, he added.

He then invited Prime Minister Modi to help in launching the bus service as he said, “It is an auspicious day and place to do so.”

Further PM Modi Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a public rally at Barbigha Ground in Janakpur. (ANI)
