Nerella incident: Suspend police officials responsible for atrocities on Dalits, opposition demands

Hyderabad: All the opposition parties have decided to launch a combined struggle against the Govt. on Neerala incident for using third degree on Dalits and Tribals. They demanded immediate suspension of police officials responsible for using third degree.

It was resolved to lodge complaints with the President, Governor, Human Rights Commission, SC/ST Commission. SC cell of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee held a Round Table Conference yesterday at Press Club, Somajiguda in which Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy, President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Vikramarak, Working President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Revant Reddy, Working President, Telangana TDP, Prof. Kodandaram, President, Telangana JAC and others participated.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR and his family are playing with the lives of the poor people and Dalits. They are supporting the Sand Mafia. He complained that the affected persons of Nerella incident met him and requested him to make a representation to Govt. for taking action against DSP of Sircilla who used third degree against Dalits.

It was decided that an all-party delegation would meet DGP, Mr. Anurag Sharma and present a memorandum to him. The delegation will also meet Mr. Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana to represent this case. A protest meeting would be arranged at Ambedkar’s statue. The delegation would meet President of India on 21st or 22nd August. A representation would also be made to the National Human Rights Commission, SCs and STs Commission. A padyatra and a public meeting would also be organized. The struggle would continue till justice is achieved.

Mr. Revanth Reddy alleged that Mr. KTR is functioning as Mafia Don. He expressed his anxiety for not taking any action against those who attacked Dalits and Tribals.

Prof. Kodandaram alleged that Sand Mafia is spreading terrorist activities to transact their business.
