Nifty, Sensex trade flat; aviation shares trade lower

New Delhi: The market indices on Monday witnessed a positive start as the Sensex soared over 100 points, while the Nifty rose above 10,600.

The Sensex traded up 103.65 points at 35262.20, while the Nifty rose 29.30 points at 10614.50.

Shares under sectors including IT, banks, pharmaceuticals and automobiles traded in green, while Nifty Midcap index traded up.

The aviation sector witnessed a meltdown on the back of higher crude oil prices, reported the Moneycontrol.
On the rupee front, a gap down opening was witnessed as the Indian rupee slipped further by 46 paise at 72.95 per dollar.

Shares of Tata Motors traded down around 2 percent as investors turned wary of JLR sales for October, reported the Moneycontrol.

It touched an intraday high of Rs. 194.85 and an intraday low of Rs 191.10.
