Hyderabad: Central Zone police with the help of task force has solved the kidnapping of a new born from Niloufer Hospital. The woman kidnapper has been arrested. Unfortunately the newborn couldn’t be rescued alive. Due to ill health and unavailability of mother’s milk, the new born died.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Zone in a press conference told that the kidnapper was traced with the help of CCTV footage.
On October 22, K Manjula had kidnapped a newborn from the premises of the state-run Niloufer Hospital. The incident took place when the two-day-old baby was brought by his grandmother to Niloufer Hospital for treatment. The infant was born at a state-run maternity hospital in the city.
In her complaint, the child’s grandmother said that when she brought him to Niloufer Hospital as he had taken ill, an unidentified woman helped her with the formalities and the treatment. Afterwards, when the old lady was leaving the hospital, the woman, who was holding the baby in her arms, said she can go and have tea. The complainant then stepped out for tea, but when she returned, the woman and the child were nowhere to be seen.
As reported by Hansindia, the infant was found dead and buried at Bandarupalli village in Nagarkurnool district. Manjula was in search of mothers willing to sell their newborns. She suffered two miscarriages. Having concealed the recent miscarriage to her husband, Manjula wanted to take a child from the hospital and claim it to be hers.
