Muzaffarnagar: Eight women and a man were injured as two groups of villagers clashed over collecting water from a tube well here, the police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the women had queued up to collect water from the public tube well in Prasoli village under Budhana police station, officials said.
A spat ensued when one of the women tried to jump the queue. A verbal confrontation turned violent and the women clashed with each other.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
