NEW DELHI: Panch Ramanandi Nirmohi Akhara Ayodhya, an original plaintiffs in the vexed Ayodhya land dispute case, on Monday moved an application before the Supreme Court seeking modifications in the apex court-mandated mediation proces, Live Law reported.
It also expressed unhappiness over the mediation process that took place on March 13 by the SC appointed three-member mediation panel to find a solution to the more than 70-year-old Babri Masjid-Ramjanmbhoomi title suit dispute.
The Akhara, in its plea, said it had participated in the proceedings held by the mediation panel at Faizabad on March 13. “However, with utmost respect to this Honourable Court as well as the panel of mediators appointed by this court, the proceedings have left a lot to be desired,” The Hindu quoted from the Akhara’s plea.

The Akhara requested the court to induct two more retired Supreme Court judges to a panel of of three mediators headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice F.M.I. Kalifulla, with Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and senior advocate Shriram Panchu as members.
“The final decision would have to be taken collectively by the Panchas…the representatives of the appellant may be permitted to place the decision [of] revival proposals before the body of Panchas for their approval. The appellant may therefore be permitted to take such approval before the finalisation of any process,” Bar and Bench reported.
On March 8, a Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi referred the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid land dispute case for mediation.
Next round of negotiations have beens cheduled on March 27, 28 and 29.
