Nitish Kumar reportedly wants to rejoin hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav

New Delhi: Bihar CM, Nitish Kumar who left “Mahagatbandhan” earlier, now reportedly wanted to rejoin hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav.

According to the report published in The Print, Nitish Kumar’s emissaries have approached Mr. Lalu Prasad. The possibility of a reunion was discussed at an Iftar Party also.

The discussion includes the possibility of Bihar CM breaking alliance with BJP. Nitish’s emissaries also considered Sharad Yadav, former JD (U) President.

A close associate of Mr. Nitish Kumar has confirmed about the discussion. However, he said no decision had made so far.

It may be mentioned that out of NDA allies, only Mr. Nitish did not participate in the International Yoga Day event.

Earlier too, Mr. Nitish Kumar raised the issue of special status to Bihar and spoke against Assam’s Citizenship Bill. He also spoke on central government’s demonetization step.

Although Mr. Nitish Kumar seems to join hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav, RJD leadership is not that eager.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday said that there is no possibility of an alliance with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

He said, “Doors to Nitish Kumar are permanently closed for an alliance.”

On Monday, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi said if Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar opts to quit office, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav would be an ideal replacement.

In February, Manjhi left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the RJD-led grand alliance.

JDU and RJD fought in alliance with Nitish Kumar as their chief ministerial faces in the last assembly elections in Bihar, while Tejashwi was appointed as the deputy chief minister then.

The RJD has already announced Tejashwi as its chief ministerial face for Bihar polls in 2020.

Bihar Chief Minister had earlier also drew flak from Tejashwi Yadav for changing loyalties to gain political advantage.

Earlier, commenting on Nitish Kumar’s decision to join the Bhartiya Janata Party, Tejashwi had said, “Nitish Kumar has done no ‘Vikas’ in Bihar, all he has done is making four governments in four years,”

Meanwhile, a senior Congress leader said that Lalu Prasad Yadav is more important than Nitish Kumar, The Print reported.
