No minority candidate of “Nizam College Civil Service Coaching” qualifies prelims

Hyderabad: Despite funding Civil Service Coaching Program for minorities, not a single candidate was able to clear UPSC prelims.

It may be mentioned that for the past two years, Center for Educational Development of Minorities, Nizam College, Osmania University has been selecting 100 minority candidates for arranging their coaching at reputed coaching centers, Hyderabad Study Circle, Brain Tree, La Excellence, RC Reddy, Analog IAS and Vision IAS. Like last year, this year also the result was disappointing. The selected students were given coaching for nine months. Govt. spent Rs. 1.51 lakh per student to meet their coaching expenses. Besides this, Rs. 5000 per month was given as stipend to city students whereas Rs. 12500 per month was given to district students. They were also given Rs. 3000 for the purchase of books and notebooks.

Despite such huge expenditure, not even a single candidate was able to pass the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2018.

Mr. A.K. Khan, Advisor to Govt. and Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, Director of Minorities Welfare had taken special interest for providing coaching facilities to minority candidates.
