No possibility of Metro in old city; Muslims suffer due to willfulness of leadership

Hyderabad: When it comes to Muslim interest the so-called Muslim leadership tries to influence the government and gives preference to its personal gains while giving public interest a back seat. Cancellation of metro project in old city is the living example of this. Addressing a press conference here at Gandhi Bhavan, leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir told this. General Secretary Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee SK Afzaluddin and ex-corporator Mohammed Ghouse were also present on the occasion.

Mr. Shabbir said he was surprised to learn from L & T that the decision to run metro in old city has been withdrawn. Had the metro project been implemented in old city, several businessmen would have benefitted from it. Youth would have got several employment opportunities. However MIM proposed to change the metro rail plan. According to sources MIM leaders have changed the route of metro train to protect their and their supporters’ property. This proves that MIM doesn’t want development of old city.
