Non-Urdu speakers also admit popularity of Urdu: Zahid Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that Urdu has established its existence throughout the world. In India, Urdu has sprinkled those flowers which non-Urdu speakers also admit. After the formation of separate Telangana State, Urdu is getting progress. With the declaration of Urdu as second official language, Govt. has given a unique gift for Urdu speakers. In the same manner, if the government intends to promote prosperity among the Muslims, it should fulfill its election promise by giving 12% reservation. In such a case, the deficit caused during 60-65 years would be compensated.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan was delivering presidential address on the occasion of Mushaira held at the annual conference of Zinda Dilane Hyderabad which was dedicated to late Nawab Shah Alam Khan. He presided over All India Mushaira at Telugu Lalitakala Thoranam Open Air Theater, Public Garden.

Mr. Shafeeq-uz-Zaman, IAS (Rtd.) and Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director of TS Urdu Academy were the guests of honour.

Continuing his speech, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told the poets that they should concentrate on satire rather than composing poems on humour. The way in which public issues could be raised through satire can’t be done by using any other genre of poetry.

He pointed out that more than Urdu poets, Hindi poets concentrated on satire. It is a weapon through which not only government is afraid of but it intends to resolve the problems.

He reiterated the determination of Siasat Urdu Daily that Urdu should become the language of everyone. He announced that an all India Mushaira would be held at Telugu Lalit Kala Thoranam Open Air Theater in December 2017 in which besides other poets, Mr. Imran Pratapgarhi will also be invited.

On this occasion, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan released the book written by Mr. Mukhtar Yousufi, Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Noorani, General Secretary of Zinda Dilane Hyderbad highlighted the successful conduct of humorous mushaira in the past and thanked all the guests.
