Notorious gangster nabbed in Bathinda

Chandigarh: A gangster was today nabbed in Punjab’s Bathinda district after a brief encounter, the police said.

Two.32 bore pistols and some live cartridges were also recovered from his possession, they said.

Gurbax Singh, a resident of Sewewala in Faridkot, was facing several murder, attempt to murder and other cases in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, police said.

A police team asked gangster Gurbax Singh to stop for checking when he was moving in a white car without registration number in Bathinda city, police said.

However, he opened fire at the police.

But he was later arrested by the cops, IG Bathinda Zone M S Chhina said.

Gurbax was connected with Davinder Bambiha alias sharp shooter who was running a gang. After Bambiha was killed in an encounter with Punjab police, Gurbax took over the Bambiha gang.
