Now an affiliate of VHP wants NRC in West Bengal

KOLKATA: Hindu Jagran Manch pressed for National Register of Citizens(NRC) in West Bengal to weed out ‘illegal Muslim immigrants’.

HJM, an affiliate of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) will be holding its ‘Virat Hindu Sammelan (Virat Hindu Conference) in Kolkata on Saturday, 15 December.

The Hindu right-wing group apart from the demand of construction of the Ram Mandir demands an NRC drive in West Bengal to send back the illegal immigrants.

“We want NRC [National Register of Citizens of India] in Bengal so that all those illegal Muslim immigrants residing in the state can be identified and deported back to Bangladesh. Hindu refugees from Bangladesh and Pakistan, who have come into India, must be given citizenship rights. Therefore, we want the immediate passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016,” Hindu Jagran Manch member Vivek Singh said, reported Indian Today.
