NRC: Maulana Arshad Madani expresses faith in judiciary

New Delhi: After severe reprimand of Assam coordinator and registrar by the Supreme Court, expressing faith in the judiciary, Jamiat Ulama-i-hind President Maulana Syed Arshad Madani said whatever happened in the court today is encouraging. It indicates that the court is sensitive to the case of Assam citizenship and it also implies that the Court is keeping eye on whatever is happening outside the court. This is the reason that the Court summoned NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela and Registrar General Sailesh and reprimanded them for talking to media on the issue which is still pending with the court.

Maulana Madani said we have complete faith in the judiciary of the country and we respect it. He said the Assam citizenship case is linked with human existence and lives of the people hence we hope that the Supreme Court will give a judgment after taking the situation and all evidence into consideration, and the judgment will ensure the larger interest of the victims.

It must be noted that the Court summoned NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela and Registrar General Sailesh reprimanded them by saying, “Both of you have apparently committed contempt of the court. Should we send you to the jail? You should both be punished.”
