Ola driver held for misbehaving with woman passenger in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An Ola driver got arrested by the city police for misbehaving with a woman software professional. The 25-year-old had booked an Ola share.

The woman had booked the cab to Lingampally railway station on Tuesday. After the two other passengers got down, the driver, K Shivakumar (22), allegedly started staring at the woman, reports Deccan Chronicle.

He allegedly forced her to disclose her mobile number and misbehaved with her, an official at the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate said.

The driver then changed the route of the car, when the woman questioned and shouted at him, he stopped the car. The woman got down from the cab and registered a complaint with the Hyderabad police’s ‘SHE Team’, the police official said.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354D (stalking) at Vanastalipuram police station, he said.

The cab driver has been arrested, the official said.
