Hyderabad: Acting on a complaint from noted film producer Shekhar Kammula, the City Cyber Crimes police have nabbed one V. Hanumanth Reddy alias Sanjay and Sudheer for allegedly cheating many film acting aspirants by posting advertisements in online portals offering roles in the upcoming movies posing himself as Assistant to Shekar Kammula and collecting money through online transfers.

Police said Shekhar Kammula complained that one Pradeep, an aspiring actor, brought to his notice that one Sanjay was posting advertisements with his photo and of Vijay Devarakonda (leading Telugu Hero) on Quicker portal asking for female actors from different age groups from 12 to 32 years to get a chance to act.

The complainant said Sanjay lured one Pradeep and made him to transfer Rs 1,500 by offering him a role of Rohan in the film. Sanjay claimed that he was an assistant director to Shekar Kammula.

The police have cautioned the general public not to believe such fake advertisements and contact the concerned Movie Artistes Association before making any payments. (NSS)
