Hyderabad: “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied”, this is true of Alair encounter probe. Even after a lapse of one year, the investigations of Alair encounter seem to be not progressing. It seems neither Govt. is interested in the probe nor the tactful Muslims leadership is showing any interest in it. The family members of the deceased five Muslim youths are still waiting for Justice.
It may be mention on 7th April 2015, five under trial Muslim prisoners namely, Vicar Ahmed, Syed Amjad Ali, Mohammed Zakir, Mhammed Haneef and Azhar Khan were shot dead at Alair in Nalgonda District in an encounter while shifting them from Warangal Jail to Hyderabad Criminal Court. At the time of shooting, these Muslim youths were handcuffed. Armed Reserved Police party killed them under the pretext that they were trying to snatch the police weapons for escaping.
The parents of the deceased youths raised many questions on the way of encounter and they had termed it as a brutal and planned killing by the police. Govt. of Telangana constituted a Special Investigation Team consisting of Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, SP of Khamma, Mr. M. Dayananda Reddy , DSP of Police Intellence, Mr. M. Ramana Kumar, ACP, Madhapur, Mr. L. Raj Venkat Reddy, Inspector of Police Task Force and Mr. S Ravender, Inspector of Police, Humayun Nagar.
Muslim organizations and Human Right Activists rejected the constitution of SIT and the Govt. to it investigated either by CBI or a sitting Judge of the High Court since SIT consisted of the police officials who failed to investigate the killing of Mustafauddin, in Mehdipatnam, Army Garrison.
The vested interests and the Muslim leadership shelved this issue in cold storage. After the formation of Mr. Sandeep Shindaliya had interrogated 13 policemen involved in the encounter. The Mini bus used in the encounter and the rifle used were also seized and sent to forensic laboratory.
Police implicated Vikhar Ahmed as the founder of an Islamic organization and registered many criminal cases against him. Police also claimed that Vikhar Ahmed involved in killing policemen to take revenge with them for opening fire the innocent Muslims of Makkah Masjid.
Reliable sources indicated that SIT did not make any progress in this case and exhibited no interest in it.
