OP Rawat and Subramanian exposed Modi government over demonetisation: Ahmed Patel

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Ahmed Patel tweeted that whatever Congress was saying is found to be true. OP Rawat’s statement has exposed the claim of Modi government in which it had said that use of black money will be stopped during the elections. Ahmed Patel tweeted that 3 senior officers have confirmed what we were telling about demonetisation. Demonetisation was a catastrophe. But no accountability or apology was rendered, and no one resigned.

Mr Ahmed Patel said India will neither forget nor forgive. Now it is open to all that note ban was a wrong decision by the government.

It must be noted that after former Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) Arvind Subramanian slammed Narendra Modi-led government’s demonetisation decision, former Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat has also commented on the failure of the move to check black money.

Mr Rawat said that after demonetisation, it was thought that misuse of money during the election will be brought down. But it couldn’t be proved on the basis of the data of the seizures. Rawat claimed the political class and their financiers have no dearth of money and said that as far as black money used in the election is concerned, there was no check on it. He claimed that demonetisation had absolutely no impact on black money.
