Osmania Hospital: Woman injured after a ceiling collapses for the third time in a month

Osmania General Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in India located at Afzal Gunj, Hyderabad. It is run by the Government of Telangana and is one of the largest in the state.

The hospital building, a heritage structure is in dire need of repairs and renovation. A 21-year-old woman attending a patient at the Osmania General Hospital was injured after a portion of the roof collapsed and fell on her.

This was the third such incident in the month of August, where the roof of the hospital caved in, and pieces of the building block collapsing on a daily basis.

The situation of the building gets even worse during the rainy season as the rainwater seeps into the building causing the roof to fall down.

Telangana Health Minister C Laxma Reddy inspected the building a few months ago and announced that the works related to the hospital building will be initiated soon.
