Hyderabad: Over 95 lakh saris will be distributed from October 12 as a gift to women from the State government on the occasion of Bathukamma festival, said Industries & Commerce Minister KT Rama Rao.
At a display of Bathukamma saris here on Thursday, KTR said all the saris were produced in the Sircilla Powerloom Cluster at a cost of Rs 280 crore. “Each sari has been produced at a cost of Rs 290 this year”, he said. Already, 50 lakh saris have been sent to the districts and the rest will be sent by October 10, he said, adding that distribution will commence from October 12 and will be completed within a week.
