Pak women say #NoToWar; here’s what Swara Bhaskar tweets

NEW DELHI: Pictures of young Pakistani women condemning the deadly strike at Pulwama that left 40 CRPF personnel dead is going viral across India.

A young Pakistani journalist Sehyr Mirza has launched #AntiHateChallenge and condemn Pulwama attack.

With a placard that read: “I am a Pakistani and I condemn Pulwama terrorist attack”.

With #AntiHateChallenge #NoToWar” written on the placard, Mirza further tagged the picture with the message: “I won’t trade humanity for patriotism”

Mirza, quoting Indian poet and lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, wrote:

Whether blood be ours or theirs, Its the blood of humankind.
Whether wars be waged in the east or west, It is the murder of world-peace.
Whether houses be bombed or borders, The temple of the Soul is wounded.
War is a problem itself. How will war resolve problems?
Today it will rain fire and blood, Tomorrow, hunger and scarcity.
urged her countrymen and social media users to join the campaign of peace.

Holding placards that read “I am a Pakistani and I condemn Pulwama terrorist attack”, many other young Pakistanis joined her campaign.

Actress Swara Bhaskar lauded the initiative by young Pakistanis who are vouching for peace amid the tense political situation.

She wrote, “Thank you friends from Pakistan for this message of condolence and peace. Laudable initiative by young Pakistanis. We hear you!”

In another tweet, the Raanjhanaa actor added, “Everyone who is spending time spreading hatred and abuse on Twitter, WhatsApp, and social media. This is you.”

The actor also called out people to “STOP targeting Kashmiri Muslims in cities of India,” Bhaskar wrote. “Apart from the fact that it’s inhuman and just WRONG. This is also exactly what the terrorists and their sponsors want! An India which is imploding by infighting! It’s not patriotism… it’s hateful, wrong and bad strategy!”
