Pakistan sponsoring terrorism in J&k: Jitendra Singh

Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that Pakistan is directly or indirectly sponsoring and promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan is directly or indirectly sponsoring perpetrating promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Singh further stated that Pakistan is playing significant role in breeding militancy in Kashmir.

“It is hardly a secret that Pakistan has been playing a significant, rather, negative role as far as militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is concerned,” Singh told ANI.

Singh’s remarks comes a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Nawaz expressed deep shock over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commader Burhan Wani and other civilians and condemned the excessive and unlawful use of force against innocent people in Kashmir.

“It is deplorable that excessive and unlawful force was used against civilians who were protesting against the killing of Burhan Wani,” said Sharif in a statement on Sunday, reports the Express Tribune.

The 22-year-old Burhan Wani, along with his two cohorts, was killed by the security forces earlier on Friday.

On Sunday, the Foreign Office spokesperson also issued a statement deploring the oppressive measures adopted by Indian forces and called the killing of Wani as extrajudicial.

Islamabad also expressed its concern over the detention of Kashmiri leadership and called upon New Delhi to fulfill the human rights obligations as per the United Nation.

The Kashmir valley has been on a boil since widespread protests were carried out over Wani’s killing with many separatists’ calling for a shutdown.

Many protestors have lost their lives so far.
