Pakistan Votes tomorrow! Know about the contestants on battling field

New Delhi: Cricketer turned politician Imran Khan’s chances to win the elections after all the controversies regarding him and his former wife, at this point seems bleak battling against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who has succeeded Nawaz as PM.

Imran is contesting as next PM with five seats in the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad Capital Territory, Indian Express reported.

Punjab’s CM since 2013-2018 and PML (N) president since his brother Nawaz’s disqualification, Shahbaz Sharif is contesting from Dera Ghazi Khan (NA-192) against PTI candidate from locally powerful Leghari clan, and Lahore (NA-132).

While Benazir’s husband is contesting from Shaheed Benazirbad I (NA-213). This is his first parliamentary election since 1993 and Benazir’s 29-year-old son will be on election battle for the first time and is contesting with Sindh’s two seats.

Former PM Nawaz’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is contesting two National assembly and two provincial assembly seats. He is quite close to Army.

Syed Mustafa Kamal Former member of MQM and now party head of Pak Sarzameen Party has recently returned from Dubai and now the star mayor of Karachi, is contesting one National Assembly, one Sindh Assembly seat.

Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Hafiz Saeed’s son –Talha is contesting for Allah-o-Akbar party. Since the Terror head’s political front- Milli Muslim ‘s League, was denied registration, Hafiz has placed his 79 candidates for National Assembly with 181 for the four provincial Assemblies, while Terrorist Waleed is contesting from Lahore XI (NA-133).
