Pakistan’s High Commission staffer accused of touching a woman ‘inappropriately’

New Delhi: A Pakistan High Commission’s staff member was taken to a city police station for allegedly touching a woman inappropriately, the police said on Monday.

According to the woman, the man touched her inappropriately in the market, following which both the woman and the staffer were brought to Sarojini Nagar police station on Sunday.

The man rejected her claims by saying that his hand merely touched past the woman due to the heavy crowd in the market, police said.

After this incident, there were media reports that the staffer was detained. However, the police denied these reports.

Later the matter was sorted out after the man apologised to the woman, said a senior police official.
