Paleru Congress MLA Upender Reddy to join TRS

Hyderabad: The strength of TRS MLAs was increasing day after day with Congress legislators are queuing up at Telangana Bhavan to join the ruling party in the State. This time around Paleru MLA K Upender Reddy of the Congress is likely to join the ruling party very soon. He called on TRS working president KT Rama Rao here on Thursday and discussed about development of Paler segment.
The Congress MLA, who won election by defeating senior TRS leader Tummala Nageshwar Rao, has been in touch with the ruling party leaders for some time. Now, he is said to have expressed his willingness to join the TRS. With the TRS leadership promising to give a ticket in the coming elections to him, Upender Reddy has decided to join the TRS. If necessary, the Congress leader said he would quit the MLA post and contest again on TRS B-Form afresh.

It may be mentioned here that TDP’s Sandra Venkata Veeraiah announced his decision to join the TRS recently. Updender Reddy’s defection to the TRS, its strength in the old Khammam district would increase.

The Congress suffered a severe blow as its legislators were lining up to join the ruling party with Maheshwaram MLA and former home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and her son Karthik Reddy set to join the TRS soon. Earlier, four Congress MLAs Haripriya Nayak, Chirumarthi Lingaiah of Nakrekal, Athram Sakku of Asifabad and Rega Kantha Rao of Pinapaka have already joined the ruling party.
