Hyderabad: Finally the old Panch Mohalla gate of historical Makkah Masjid has been thrown open for devotees. The gate was used by the devotees for entering into the Masjid till 2002, however the police for some security reasons had closed and constructed a wall.
Opening of the gate was proposed for shifting of construction material repair and renovation of roof of the Makkah Masjid however a person had claimed ownership of the land in front of the gate. The issue was preventing opening of the gate.
Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel took special interest and demolished the wall in his presence. After the gate is installed devotees can also use the gate for entering into the Masjid.
