Hyderabad Association Dammam has organized a workshop for the Indian Parents titled, “Parental Management Training (PMT) on 16th November at Al Rayyan Poly Clinic in Dammam.
Parental Management Training (PMT) is a program that trains parents to manage their children’s behavioral problems at home and at school. PMT works to correct maladaptive parent-child interactions especially as they apply to discipline. Parent management training, also known as behavioral parent training or simply parent training, is a family of treatment programs that aims to change parenting behaviors, teaching parents positive reinforcement methods for improving pre-school and school-age children’s behavior problems. This presentation was organized exclusively for parents.
Approximately 150 parents attended the event. The event started with Qirath by Master. Majed and introduction were given by Master Qaavi. It was well organized by the members of the Hyderabad Association. Actively involved for this event were Mohammed Ismail, Abdul Moiz, Abdul Qayyum, Shoeb Khan, Yousuf Siddiqui, Rafi Sajid, Asif Pasha, and Mohammed Omar. Abdul Rahman Pervez, the Chairperson of Hyderabad Association, Riyadh Chapter traveled all the way from Riyadh to attend this session.
Mirza Zaheer Baig, Scientist at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals gave the PPT presentation on Parental Management Training. He is also a certified Counselor and Coach for Managers. He has given several lectures on Personality Development, Career Guidance, Teachers Empowerment workshops and counselled several students. Parents were well satisfied with this presentation. One of the parent said, this training has taught them and shown them to significantly decrease childhood behavioral problems. Another parent said, “It was very much inspiring lecture and useful for the parents, who are concerned about their kids for their career.” Among evidence-based therapies for children and adolescents with oppositional, aggressive, and antisocial behavior, parent management training (PMT) is without peer.

Shuja Shareef, President of IEF, Dammam Chapter, Mammu Master the Principal of Al Muna International School, Dammam, Abdullah Manjeri Ex Chairman of Management Committee of IISD, Kaleem Ahmed, current member of Management Committee of IISD, Radha Krishna ex member of Management Committee of IISD, Abdul Bari from Zamil, Sudhakar from Dar Al Riyadh, Sinha from Jubail, Muzaffar Khan and Ehsan from 3S and Abdul Wadood and Jameel from ISDF.
Abdul Qayyum was honored for his exemplary services to Hyderabad Association. In the closing speech, Mammu Master praised the presentation and said it is the need of the hour for the parents. The event ended with vote of thanks by Shoeb Khan.
