On Sunday, mild tension prevailed at Om Jai Baba Ashram in Godumakunta village of Keesara when members of the ashram denied giving entry to the parents of a mentally challenged woman who was admitted there.
According to police, the 24-year-old woman hailing from Nirmal was admitted at the ashram two months ago for treatment. On Sunday, the woman’s mother, Manga Devi, went to the ashram to see her daughter but she was denied entry.
Huge numbers of locals gathered near the ashram and staged a protest against the ashram, following which Keesara police reached the place and took action to settle the issue.
However, the police officials were also not allowed inside the ashram. The police did not receive any complaint and were negotiating with the management.
