Parliamentary Committee on Commerce visits Punjab

Amritsar:The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce today visited the city and assured the trading community that the proposed Amritsar-Kolkata Rail corridor would boost trade in Punjab.

The committee Chairman Chandan Mitra along with the other members, discussed various business related problems and solutions with the traders of the state.

Addressing a press conference here, Mitra said the work on Amritsar Kolkata rail corridor would start soon that can boost trade in Punjab.

The traders, meanwhile, suggested that the corridor be extended till Attari railway station as it would boost trade between India and Pakistan.

The other members of the committee include Jawahar Parsad, Amit Kumar, Narinder Kumar, C A K Gandhi, Shantaram Naik, Bodh Singh Bhagat, D S Rathore, Charnjit Singh Gori and Jatinder Chowdry Janak Ram.
