Leaders belonging to different political parties including TRS are planning to organise a massive rally in the Old City on December 17 demanding Metro Rail services in Old City.
Barring MIM, leaders of all political parties have formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC) to launch a mass agitation demanding Metro Rail in Old City. Interestingly, the JAC is led by TRS senior leader Rashid Shareef. The JAC members have so far met TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, CPI leader Chada Venkat Reddy, Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman and other leaders and invited them to participate in the rally.
According to Rashid Shareef, the rally will be organised from Mir Chowk to Falaknuma. He said residents of Old City were in favour of Metro Rail and the State Government should implement the original plan of having a Metro Rail from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station to Falaknuma. (INN)
