Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has stated that Uddanam was not a backward area, but it was pushed to backwardness forcefully.

After ending his deeksha, which was taken up demanding the state government to respond on the health condition of the people of Uddanam, Pawan Kalyan said that he didn’t take up deeksha for political mileage and made it clear that he would have extended support to the chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu if he wanted political gains. He lamented that it was sad that the state government, which spent Rs.2000 crore for Pushkaralu, failed to spend adequate amount on 20,000 people who died due to kidney problems.

He stated that he has taken up agitation protesting against the state government, which extended its support to the centre, and the centre for deceiving the state. He explained that the Jana Sena party was striving to create socio-political awareness among the people. He opined that the state government would solve the problem of people of Uddanam by convening a meeting with industrialists to solve the problem under corporate social responsibility. (NSS)
