People in India, Pak want cordial ties: Poet Wasim Barelvi

Ghaziabad: Voicing concern over incidents of terror, renowned Urdu poet Prof Wasim Barelvi has said that the problem can be resolved only through “love and harmony”.

Participating in the ‘Ganga-Jamuni Kavi Sammelan and Mushayara’ here on Thursday night at Hindi Bhawan in Lohiya Nagar, Barelvi also said that the initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif on December 25 last year was a positive one.

People in India, Pak want cordial ties It was aimed at addressing the issues affecting the ties between the two neighbours, the poet said at the event organised by BJP leader Prithvi Singh. Barelvi said that people in India and Pakistan want political stability and cordial bilateral ties.

Eminent Hindi poet Dr Kunwar Baichain said that the governments of the two countries must think about organising cultural exchanges in which poets, artists, singers, educationists and other eminent personalities are invited to foster better relations.
