Plan to develop 6,000 temples: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said some 6,000 temples in Telangana districts will be developed.

The minister visited the popular Sri Ramalingeshwar Swamy Temple at Bekkal village of Maddur mandal here. He offered special prayers on the occasion and announced sanction of Rs 80 lakh for the temple development. He said efforts were being made to give facelift to all the temples in the State.

Ramalingeswhara Swamy temple will be developed into a famous tourist spot in the near future. He also vowed to get Devadula and Kaleshwaram waters to Cheryal, Bachchannapet and Maddur mandals and irrigate crops. The area will get abundant waters this year under phase I and II, he added. (NSS
