Hyderabad: After the rumours of plastic rice became viral on social media, panic has been created about plastic wheat flour of a famous brand.
It is said that plastic is being mixed in the wheat flour. After this rumour got viral on social media, people become panicky and started asking questions to the flour merchants.
It may be noted that earlier when the rumours of plastic rice had become viral on social media, police had started raiding grocery shops and godowns which had created panic. Now that this rumour is making rounds on social media, a strange situation has been created.
By demonstrating on social media, an attempt is being made to prove that a noted brand mixes plastic in wheat flour.
The Director of AR Food Products, Mr. Abrar Ahmed told that flour could be made only out of wheat and the quality of the flour could be identified when the bread is made. He also said that the rumours which are being spread on social media are false. It is a deliberate attempt to defame a particular brand of flour. No one can take the risk of adulterating the food items.
Despite the investigation which established that the claim was fake, no action has been taken by the authorities. Flour traders of the city told that the question of mixing plastic with flour does not arise.
