Pleas against encroachment on Waqf properties fall on deaf ears

Hyderabad: Residents of Moula Ali are exasperated over inaction of Waqf Board against encroachment of Waqf land. The locals informed that 49 acres and 11 guntas of land belonging to the Masjid Muslim Jung under the Telangana State Waqf Board is being encroached by shops and function halls. They have made multiple representations but to no avail.

The land in question fall under 358/1, 358/2 and 358/3 at Moula Ali in Malkajgiri mandal which is being illegally encroached upon. Despite filing several complaints, Waqf Board officials have not taken any measures to protect the Waqf properties.

However State Waqf Board officials have to say that the CEO had wrote to the collector and district magistrate of Medchal district in May 2017 requesting him for appropriate action to protect the Waqf property from illegal encroachments and issue ORC and PPB in the name of Waqf Institute Masjid Muslim Jung in the revenue records.
