Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 8th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad from November 28-30 at HICC.
Announcing this at a press conference here today, Dr. Murali Krishna Kumar, Senior Advisor NITI Aayog said that India is co-hosting the GES with the United States. The US delegation will be led by Ivanka Trump advisor to the US President Donald Trump. He said that this year’s theme is ‘Women First Prosperity to All’, highlighting the critical role women play in fostering global growth and prosperity. The summit will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.
Dr. Kumar said that the summit will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, educators, government officials and starting ecosystem supporters. He further said that the GES 2017 agenda consists of breakout sessions, and workshops. He said the summit in Hyderabad will focus on four innovative, high growth industries – namely health care and life sciences, digital economy and financial technology, energy and infrastructure and media and entertainment. To inspire the culture of entrepreneurship “Road to GES”, series are being planned in different cities in India and US to promote investment opportunities and maximise the strength of cities potential for prosperity. GES 2017 will present a unique opportunity to connect and establish meaningful partnerships amongst entrepreneurs and investors. An ‘app’ will be launched two weeks before the summit to facilitate this mechanism, he added.
Jennifer Arangio, Senior Director, NSG, US White House, said that, the US believes that summit will showcase the acumen of entrepreneurship in India and the US. She said that investing in women entrepreneurs will fuel economic growth, as women transform communities and not just families.
Earlier, US Council General Katherine Hadda said that there are about 138 US companies in Hyderabad, creating jobs and opportunities. She said women as role models will play a key role in achieving success and transforming and improving lives. (INN
