PM Modi needs to talk ‘decently’ about his predecessors: Rahul Gandhi

Uttarakhand [India]: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday in a blatant attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he is the first Prime Minister who cannot talk ‘decently’ about his predecessors.

“I think Modi is the first Prime Minister who cannot talk decent for other prime ministers. He should learn,” said Gandhi while addressing a rally here.

Condemning the Prime Minister’s ‘raincoat’ remark, Gandhi said it was not just for former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh but for every person of the country.

“When Modi ji says such things about Manmohan ji, he isn’t saying just about him but for every person of the country. Whatever it be, Manmohan ji was country’s prime minister. He was India’s prime minister,” he added.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi, Gandhi said the former enjoys coming in news.

“The day he is not in news, he is unable to sleep that night,” he added.

The Congress vice-president’s sarcastic remarks came a day after his party staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha after Prime Minister Modi trained guns on his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh, accusing him of letting corruption run free under his nose but managing to steer clear of any charges.

“Dr. Manmohan has played a significant role in the economic system of India. But during the most corrupt regime in the nation, there was not a single corruption charge against him. This art of taking bath wearing a raincoat must be learnt from Manmohan Singh,” the Prime Minister said. (ANI)
