PM Modi wants to see Urdu flourishing in the streets of Banaras: Shakeel Ahmed

New Delhi: Addressing at a seminar held by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), its Director Dr Shakeel Ahmed said this seminar is being conducted at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Banaras is the constituency of our Prime Minister and it is his favourite city. This city enjoys cosmopolitan culture.

Dr Shakeel informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to attend the seminar and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar also wanted to attend the seminar but both could not arrive due to some personal engagements. He however said, Modi ji has sent a message for the seminar which shows how he loves Banaras and its culture. He is very serious for promotion of Urdu. He wants to see Urdu flourishing in the streets of Banaras, said Dr Shakeel, while addressing the 2-day seminar entitled ‘Nazeer Banarasi: life and achievements’.

Noted critic, Shameem Tariq, Prof. Anees Jung dean Faculty of Arts, Dr Aftab Ahmed head of the department of Urdu, Zaheer Banarasi, son of Nazeer Banarasi and others addressed the seminar.
