PM Modi welcomes Ivanka Trump to Hyderabad in Nov

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka is scheduled to visit Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Ivanka Trump, 35, is also the advisor to the US president will be in Hyderabad between November 28-30.

“Honored to lead the US delegation to #GES2017 in India & meet with Prime Minister Modi & passionate entrepreneurs from around the globe!” Ivanka, said in a tweet yesterday. She also a posted a picture of her shaking hand with the prime minister.

The two-day event at Hyderabad would aim to bring together investors and entrepreneurs of the two countries.

PM Modi on Thursday night took to Twitter to and confirmed Ivanka’s participation for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

“The Summit is a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and start-ups with global leader,” PM Modi tweeted.

“Look forward to Ms. Ivanka Trump’s presence at #GES 2017 Hyderabad as the leader of the US delegation,” he said in another tweet.

A decision in this connection was taken when Modi and Trump held their first meeting at the White House in June.

Hours after PM Modi made the announcement on the micro blogging site, President Trump said in a tweeted yesterday, “Ivanka Trump will lead the US delegation to India this fall, supporting women’s entrepreneurship globally.”

Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and Municipal minister K T Rama Rao also expressed happiness over the Centre’s decision.

“World’s largest & oldest democracies coming together to spur innovation & entrepreneurship,” KTR tweeted.

He tweeted: “we at Hyderabad Telangana look forward to welcoming & hosting Ms Ivanka Trump and her delegation along with delegations from other imp nations”.

The event is being organised by the NITI Aayog in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs.
