Hyderabad: The Telangana police on Wednesday accorded permission for AICC president Rahul Gandhi’s public meeting scheduled to be held at Shamshabad on March 9. The meeting will be held at the ground located beside Classic Convention.
According to TPCC sources, the meeting would begin at 4 pm in the evening and Congress will launch its election campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in the State. The party was aiming to win majority number of MP seats out of total 17 seats. It was already decided to announce the names of the contesting candidates at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the party leaders have changed the venue of the public meeting from Pahadi Sharif of Maheswaram Assembly constituency to Chevella MP seat at Shamshabad. The venue has been changed following rejection of permission to hold the meeting by the officials concerned.
