Police arrests three persons involved in selling newborn baby under the pretext of adoption

Hyderabad: South Zone Police of Hyderabad busted a racket of selling infants after taking them under adoption.

According to the details, Sabila Begum, a resident of Hasan Nagar made a complaint to the police that a woman by name Shaik Khatoon desired to adopt her newborn daughter after she gave birth to her at Govt. Maternity Hospital, Petlaburuj. Under the pretext of adoption, the woman took the girl and sold her for Rs. 2 lakh.

DCP of South Zone, Mr. V. Satyanarayana told that Shaik Khatoon with the help of the agent, Gangadhar Reddy requested Sabila Begum and her husband, Shaik Yousuf to adopt their daughter after paying some amount. Shaik Khatoon sold this minor girl to Nageshwar Rao and Parvati of Vishakhapatnam.

The DCP told that Gangadhar Reddy is an agent of many infertility centers. He took Rs. 85000 and the remaining amount was distributed among other partners.

Police arrested Gangadhar Reddy, Shaik Khatoon and Shaik Yousuf.
