Police brutality in Bihar: Cop repeatedly slaps car driver for blocking traffic

Patna [Bihar]: In an incident of police brutality, cop repeatedly slapped car driver for blocking traffic by parking the car in the middle of the road.

After the driver parked his car, he was confronted by a police officer. When the driver started arguing, the police officer repeatedly slapped him.

According to the report published in Daily Mail, in the incident which took place in Patna, Bihar, angry policeman after slapping said, ‘You are arguing with me. Are you drunk? I’ll skin you and make shoes out of it. You don’t recognize me yet. Move your car.’

It is also reported that after the video went viral on the internet, the department might have suspended him.

A senior officer at Patrakar Nagar Station heavily criticized his action whereas Manu Maharaaj, Senior Superintendent of Police said that he had tarnished police image. He also said that the incident shows the brutal face of police.

He further said that he could have arrested the youth and lodged a complaint against him instead of slapping him. “I will initiate a disciplinary proceeding against the police officer”, he added.
