Police filed FIR against 516 tenants of Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf

Hyderabad: Telangana Waqf Board has begun large-scale operations against the 516 tenants of Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf. The FIR was filed over their refusal to become tenants and accept a hike in rents.

Chief Executive Officer Shahnawaz Qasim also sent letters to Commercial tax, income tax, vigilance departments, Transco and GHMC against the businessmen. The said 516 tenants were refusing to make an agreement with the Waqf Board.

It must be recalled that the Board took Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf Board in its direct control in 2012. There are 516 shops under the Makkah Madina Alauddin Waqf. The rent of the shops is Rs. 300 to 350 which is far below the market rate.
