Police may rearrest Chief Qazi for possessing woman’s passport, visa

Hyderabad: Chief Qazi, Ali Abdullah Rifayi likely to be taken into police custody once again. Chandrayangutta Police had registered a criminal case against him for possessing the passport of the woman and the visa sent by her Omani husband.

It may be mentioned that earlier, police had detained Qazi for three days and seized women’s passport and blank marriage certificates from his office.

Police has now registered a case on the complaint made by Asma Khatoon.

Mr. Mohammed Tajuddin Ahmed, ACP of Falaknuma told that Ali Abdullah had arranged the marriage of Asma with an Omani citizen and took lakhs of rupees from him. He paid only Rs. 50, 000 to the woman. She made a complaint that Qazi had kept her passport and visa in his possession. Police seized her passport but failed to find visa.

Qazi will be taken into custody for tracing out her visa.

Mr. Tajuddin Ahmed further told that a case would be registered in the light of the judgment pronounced by Supreme Court on Wednesday.
