Hyderabad: Continuing the raids on Ghutka dealers in the city, Task Force of Hyderabad City Police arrested dealers and seized goods worth Rs. 6 lakh.
DCP of Task Force, Mr. Radha Kishan Rao told that police raided Sagar Tours and Travels in SR Nagar area and arrested its proprietor, Mohammed Javeeduddin and five sub-dealers Bhuma Ram, Vikas Kumar, T. Sampat Rao, M. Raghuvender and Surender. He further told that despite banning Ghutka, these traders were engaged in selling it. On receiving a tip, Task Force raided SR Nagar, Jubilee Hills and Sanat Nagar areas simultaneously and seized Gutkha worth Rs. 6 lakh.
Police also reported that Purushotam, owner of Balaji Traders, Begum Bazar is absconding. Action will also be taken against him. Task Force Officials handed over the arrested persons to the concerned police stations for taking further action.
