Police reject the claims of the attack on the witnesses of Pehlu Khan’s case

The six witnesses of Pehlu Khan’s lynching case including Khan’s sons Irshad (28 yrs) and Arif (21 yrs), lawyer Asad Hayat were allegedly attacked on Saturday 29 September while they were on the way to appear in a court in Behror town.

They claimed that a black SUV without a registration number plate had tried to stop them. They also claimed that the men in the SUV abuses at them and fired at them.

The DSP, Kushal Singh said, “There was no circumstantial evidence of firing and no such vehicle, as described by the complainant, is seen in CCTV footage of a hotel near the spot.” “We have a lot of evidence to deny the claims,” he also added.

Singh said: “On their way to Alwar, they crossed Neemrana, Shahjahanpur, Bardod, and Tatarpur police stations but they did not report the incident and chose to drive to SP office.”

But, the lawyer Hayat said, “we didn’t have faith in Behror police because they gave a clean chit to the six accused named in Pehlu lynching FIR. So, we approached the SP directly.”

The police will now file its report in court. If the court accepts it, then proceedings can be initiated against the person who filed the complaint under IPC 182/211.
