By-polls likely for Nalgonda, Alampur seats: Harish

Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao today predicted that by-elections are expected for two Assembly seats of Nalgonda and Alampur segments. By elections for these two segments will be conducted simultaneously with Karnataka which is going to polls, he said.

His sensational remark assumes significance as Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary has suspended the sitting members Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar, followed by an incident wounding Council Chairman Swamy Goud on the first day of budget session during Governor ESL Narasimhan speech.

In an informal chat with the media at Assembly on Tuesday, the minister expressed displeasure at the Congress members for creating ruckus in the House. He condemned the way of the Opposition members behaved in the House. He also said they have already written to the Election Commission citing that the two Assembly segments are now vacant as the Speaker has suspended them, Harish said. The by elections will be held for these two segments which is a fitting lesson for the disgusting leaders of the Congress, he felt. The Election Commission is to take a call for the by-elections he said. (NSS)
