UP Polls: Union Minority Affairs receive Rs 4195 Cr in the 2017-18 general budget

NEW DELHI: Ahead of UP polls The Union Minority Affairs received a boost of Rs 4195 Cr in the 2017-18 general budget, a rise of 9.6 percent from the previous year.

 

Presenting the budget on Wednesday Finance Minister Arun Jaitley allocated a hike of Rs 367.75 crores to Minority Affairs budget. It was Rs 3,827.25 Cr in 2016-17.

 

The budget will be utilized in executing the Umbrella schemes for minority communities like – Muslims, Sikhs, Jains Christians and Parsis.

UP witnessed he increased allocation as elections are pending in it, along with many other states. Last year the increase was a meagre Rs 89 crore.
